SOMATIC HEALING GROUP - Spring 2025

In this facilitated group, we find ways of supporting the unique needs of each member, while also learning to more effectively relate to others. We learn to be seen for who we really are, and see others as they are. We find healing where we may have felt pain or disconnection from the self. We find insight, awareness and courage to break and move past old patterns that no longer serve us. The group sessions utilize Core Energetics, an approach that engages group members through body, dialogue and awareness. Group sessions include shared movement and expressive work, and opportunities for members to process individual issues and struggles they would like guided support in working through. This group provides a safe and therapeutic environment, where you can express your feelings, take risks, connect to others and further your emotional growth process.

This group will help with: PTSD, Abuse, Relationships, Anger, Body Image, Shame, Anxiety, Depression, Self Esteem, Injury, Addiction, Personal Growth, Life Transitions

Skimming The Surface: A Movement Healing Retreat at EARTHDANCE

The Skimming the Surface: Movement Healing Retreat will support adults that may be overcoming diverse forms of stress and trauma through somatic-based expressive movement exercises. This 3-day retreat will help participants release blocked and repressed energy causing stress or discomfort in their life by integrating movement, feelings, and emotions.

Each movement journey is handcrafted to best support the participants. Green serves as a guide to help open doorways where each individual will do their personal work, leading them to a heart centered and intuitive place, finding a physical expression and release of emotions and energy whereby a healing process can begin.

Ms. Green’s approach helps participants confront emotional wounds and bring them to the surface in a gentle and compassionate way. This experience leaves participants feeling expanded and curious about their emotions, with new insights to move forward from.

Offerings will integrate creative movement, improvisation, body reading, energy and breath work, body/mind embodiment and consciousness exercises, shamanic journeying, somatic experiencing, parts work, use of voice, free writing prompts, intuition and Core Energetics.

Skimming The Surface: ZOOM DONATION-BASED Movement Healing Workshop

Skimming the Surface: Movement Healing Workshops aim to service adult and youth populations that may be overcoming diverse forms of trauma and stress through somatic based expressive movement exercises. These workshops will help participants release blocked and repressed energy causing stress or discomfort in one’s life by integrating movement, feelings, and emotions.

The workshop helps participants confront emotional wounds and bring them to the surface in a gentle and compassionate way. When using the language of movement rather than words, different images or emotions may arise, which bypass the controlling and censoring mind. This experience leaves participants feeing expanded and curious about their emotions, with new insights to move forward from.

Each movement journey is handcrafted to best support the participants. Green serves as a guide to help open doorways where each individual will do their personal work, leading them to a heart centered and intuitive place, finding a physical expression and release of emotions and energy whereby a healing process can begin.

This workshop will be held at Green Space and is DONATION-BASED.

CROSS POLLINATION: Dance/Music Performance & Open Improv Jam

Green Space & Vox Novus invite you to join us, Saturday, January 25th, 7-10pm for a dance / music performance “15 Minutes of Fame” and “Cross Pollination," an Open Improvisation Jam at Green Space in LIC, Queens.

"15 Minutes of Fame" will be a salon presentation of 15 one-minute dances by 15 different choreographers to fifteen one-minute pieces for toy piano performed live by Yumi Suehiro, each by a different composer.

After “15 Minutes of Fame” all audience members and dancers are invited to participate in "Cross Pollination," where sketch artists will draw dancers as models-in-motion. Dancers will improvise with one another, while being inspired to move by the visual art in the making. Musicians will also improvise as they create a sonic landscape watching art and dance unfold before them. This is a unique opportunity to explore the combination of visual, motion-based, and audio arts. As host, Green Space hopes to provide a relaxed environment for spontaneous, free expression and improvisation between the different forms while encouraging synergy amongst artists. This event is open to artists, dancers, musicians and viewers alike. Join us!

Somatic Healing Group

In this facilitated group, we find ways of supporting the unique needs of each member, while also learning to more effectively relate to others. We learn to be seen for who we really are – and to others as they really are.  We find healing where before we may have felt pain or disconnection from the self. We find insight, awareness and courage to break and move past old patterns that no longer serve us.  The sessions utilize Core Energetics, an approach that engages group members through body, dialogue and awareness. Group sessions include shared movement and expressive work and opportunities for members to process individual issues and struggles they want support in working through. This group provides a safe and therapeutic environment, where you can express your feelings, take risks, connect to others and further your emotional growth process.

This group will help with: PTSD, Various Forms of Abuse, Relationships, Anger, Body Image, Guilt/Shame, Anxiety, Panic, or Depression, Self Esteem, Injury, Addictions, Personal Growth, Life/Professional Transitions
