TAKE ROOT at Green Space kicks off the 2021-2022 season with dance work by Bassam Abou Diab and Valerie Green/Dance Entropy, Live Lebanese Music by Richard Khuzami / Maurice Chedid.

VG/DE’s “HOME” project continues with a new residency with visiting choreographer Bassam Abou Diab. Company members and guest artists will present Bassam’s version of “HOME” as part of Take Root at Green Space on September 24 & 25 at 8PM. Abou Diab will also present the solo “Eternal”, which raises questions about the role of the dancing body in facing the despotic political regimes in the Arab countries and the transformations it went through in order to become a rebellious political movement that can face oppression and torture using music and dance.

The evening will conclude with a post-performance talkback.
